I have been using the BCM9436CS2 (A1466) Airport card on my build, and so far, everything bluetooth that I've connected to it has worked. Apple Magic Trackpad 2, Logitech 810 keyboard, and a BT audio speaker.Handoff works. Wifi has also been reasonable, and works. Connects with all networks I've tried (2.4 / 5 and iOS shared) One oddity is that running Apple Wireless Diagnostics on the WiFi causes a hard machine crash / reset. Perhaps I could reseat the card adapter again. Current OS is 10.13.2 on an ASUS Z370i motherboard. No special effort needed in kexts or patching to make this work, seemed to work OOB.

I followed the guide above and got Wifi working just putting the three files in the Other folder from config.plist. Bluetooth seems like it should be working, i can turn it on, and it wills can for a device, but it will not find any devices.

I have a bluetooth keyboard and set a of headphones to test and neither will connect. I then tried moving the files to library/extensions and now the 'Turn on Bluetooth,' button is greyed out so that seems worse. Any help is much appreciated.
